The Nasonex Bee

May 7, 2006

Add another commercial to the ranks of the acceptible. This one, like the ones with the Geico Gekko, contains a likable animated character–a bee who suffers from seasonal nasal allergies. After a spray of Nasonex he returns to pollenate an allergy-inducing flower, as he says, "a changed bee."

  1. Great commerials. Who is the voice of the bee. Thanks. Jeanie Irizarry

  2. I believe that the voice of thje bee is Antonio Banderas. I would like to know myself.

  3. It’s not Antonio, although I’m sure that is what they wanted us to think. It is Joaquim de Almeida. Look him up at http://www.imdb.com.

  4. Yes it is Antonio Banderas. In Banderas’ IMDB entry, if you click “other works” under the “Biographical” heading on the left it lists Banderas as the voice of the Bee for Nasonex. Also, after entering a search on Google there is a Washington Post article that attributes Banderas as the voice:
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/27/AR2005102700603.html.

  5. I love the Nasonex bee! I smile everytime he floats onto the screen.

  6. Isn’t the animated bee with the Spanish accent a take off on a similar bee I seem to remember from way back. The bee in memory serenaded a senorita bee on a balcony, and had similarly accented mariachi-style guitar playing back up singers.

Anyone else have a deja vu moment with this?

  7. Somebody should swat that annoying insect
