Alright, you can stop it now.

July 10, 2007

Even on satellite radio the classic rock channel still plays the hits. It’s the AM of FM. I still don’t hear the obscure tracks–even the Beatles get short shrift. Maybe it’s time to put “Only A Northern Song” into rotation. What I don’t need to hear anymore is Bob Seeger. We can retire him now. I’ve had enough. No more “Main Street.” No more “Hollywood Nights.” No more “Night Moves.” No more “Old Time Rock and Roll.” Thank you. The Silver Bullet band has shot its wad.

To that, please, PLEASE add Manfred Mann’s “Do Wah Diddy.” Why? WHY is that still played when there’s so much more out there. How about some Traffic? Badfinger? Zombies? Petula Clark or The Turtles?

And also, I’m really not too fond of Van Morrison, either. Please spare me another rendition of “Brown Eyed Girl” or “Tupalo Honey.” Please!
